About Us
Ness Engineering was formed in 1985 by Ronald Leslie and John Walters to serve Sumburgh Airport’s electrical and mechanical needs.

Since that
day Ness has steadily grown. We now work
for a variety of valuable clients throughout Shetland and beyond. We frequently undertake projects in the north
of Scotland, the Western Isles and Orkney.
Our work has expanded far beyond the provision of airfield services, though that is still one of our core businesses. We undertake all kinds of electrical and mechanical installation and maintenance and can tackle any building project. We also specialise in waste management and are active in the growing renewables industry.
Outstanding customer service has always been at the heart of the service that we offer. We believe it’s been the key to our success and growth. Following the retirement of John Walters in 1998, our team, led by Ronald and Liz Leslie, has upheld that tradition.
